The Pour Out Pepsi campaign is a product of the Department of Unsustainable Partnerships under ASUC Senator Sarah Bancroft’s Office, who represents the environmental community. We are a group of 25 concerned students passionate about corporate accountability, racial justice, and environmental sustainability. We represent over 1,000 students who believe that UC Berkeley’s pouring rights contract with PepsiCo violates our campus values of equity, health, and sustainability.
We demand UPP working group members, UPP voting members, and Chancellor Christ vote to terminate this contract, refrain from seeking another similar in nature. We demand more transparency and student participation in the negotiation and implementation of future contracts, as well as the creation and dissemination of a campus-wide survey to identify student needs and concerns about our campus food system, such as a lack of food prep areas and hydration stations.
